State to provide free technical support for public drinking water sources

ALBANY – The State Departments of Environmental Conservation and Health announced 39 new municipalities will receive free Technical Assistance to help protect public drinking water sources through the Drinking Water Source Protection Program.

The multi-agency initiative, led by DEC and DOH in collaboration with the Departments of Agriculture and Markets and State, empowers municipalities to take critical actions to improve and protect public drinking water sources and the environment. 

Several of the new municipalities to receive the aid are in the Hudson Valley/Catskill region.

  • Village of Ellenville
  • Town of Goshen
  • City of Kingston
  • Town of Lewisboro
  • Village of Margaretville
  • Town of Montgomery
  • Village of Mount Kisco
  • Town of Orangetown
  • City of Port Jervis
  • Town of Somers
  • Village of Warwick
  • Town of Woodstock
