CITY OF HUDSON – Police Sergeant Christopher Filli who died while on duty on January 11, 2024, was laid to rest Thursday in the City of Hudson.  The senior sergeant died one day before he would have turned 52 years old.  He was part of a law enforcement family with his two brothers serving with the New York State Police.

Filli, a Hudson cop for more than 20 years, suffered a medical emergency on January 11, according to Chief Mishanda Franklin.

Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado joined in the formation of police at attention as the hearse arrived at the church and stayed for the service at St. Mary’s.

“Senior Sergeant Filli’s dedicated service to our department and city will be remembered, and his loss is felt profoundly by our community,” the chief said.  He was a “respected and dedicated member of HPD for 22-plus years,” Chief Franklin said. “His commitment to duty and selfless service left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of working alongside him.   He was an exceptional officer and will be greatly missed by all.”
