MIDDLETOWN- New York Blood Center (NYBC), one of the largest independent, community-based blood centers in the world, will host a blood drive on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Galleria at Crystal Run to help meet a need for blood donations in the region and throughout the country. The NYBC will be located on the lower level in front of JC Penney making it easier for shoppers to conveniently give the gift of life while shopping. Guests are encouraged to make an appointment online or by calling 800-933-2566.
Appointments are preferred however walk-ins will be welcomed if space permits. Please remember to eat, drink, and bring your donor ID card or ID with name and photo.

- WHY: It only takes one hour to donate, and a single donation can save multiple lives. Roughly one in seven hospital admissions require a blood transfusion. Those in need include cancer patients, accident, burn, or trauma victims, newborn babies and their mothers, transplant recipients, surgery patients, chronically transfused patients suffering from sickle cell disease or thalassemia, and many more.
