Police arrest suspect in Port Jervis train station vandalism

Vandalized Port Jervis station

PORT JERVIS – One side of Metro-North’s Port Jervis train station remains boarded up since a trackside specially-created glass mural was destroyed through vandalism this past fall.

Damage to the artwork, listed at $16,000, was reported to Metro-North patrol officers on Monday Nov. 27, 2023.

According to information provided by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority provided to Mid-Hudson News, MTA police detectives were able to identify the suspect as 22-year-old Charles Rubin of New Windsor.

Rubino was arrested at Middletown’s Warming Station on Friday, December 15, 2023. The status of the case remains open, with no court appearance listed as having taken place as of yet. Further details were

unavailable for release at this time.
