MID-HUDSON – A number of economic factors that included high interest rates, inflation, low for-sale inventory, as well as international conflicts and domestic political discord, took their collective toll on the residential real estate sales market in 2023, according to the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors.

Sales fell by more than 20 percent in each county selling in the association territory. At the same time, home prices rose, driven in part by continued strong demand and low home prices throughout the region.
