NEWBURGH- The City of Newburgh has published its FY2024 City Budget as a web-based, mobile-friendly Digital Budget Book and online Fiscal Transparency Center powered by ClearGov.

“Healthy democracies are rooted in openness and inclusion, and we are excited to provide our residents with the information they need to more fully participate in the community conversation,” said City Manager Todd Venning. “The City of Newburgh’s story is one of community power and resiliency, and the Digital Budget Book invites the world to read along as we chart our progress.”

The City of Newburgh’s Digital Budget Book presents the annual budget online, in an intuitive format with interactive graphs and tables designed to make complex financial data easy to  understand.  The Digital Budget Book is mobile-friendly and ADA-optimized for assistive technologies.  The Digital Budget Book is also available in a searchable PDF format with a linked  table of contents.

The City’s Fiscal Transparency Center empowers citizens to see precisely how funds are generated and allocated, and better understand how the annual budget impacts the community programs and services they care about most.  Visitors to the Fiscal Transparency Center can easily drill down to the line-item level, view comparative analyses of similar cities, and subscribe to certain pages to receive automatic email updates as new information becomes available.

“ClearGov is pleased to partner with the City of Newburgh to create a modern, website-based budget  book that’s easy to understand,” said Chris Bullock, CEO of ClearGov.  “Residents should be proud of the leadership the City of Newburgh has demonstrated by embracing innovation and taking this essential next step toward true clarity and accountability in local government.”

City Manager Venning says the best way to learn more about the Digital Budget Book and the City of Newburgh’s finances is to go online and explore.  “We strongly encourage residents to visit their Digital Budget Book today to see their tax dollars at work,” said Venning.
