Cop kills wife and two sons before taking his own life

CLARKSTOWN – A man believed to be a sergeant with the Bronxville Police Department is believed to have killed his family before taking his own life in their New City home, Clarkstown Police said Saturday.

Police went to their 10 Clydesdale Court home to perform a welfare check at 12:20 a.m. on Saturday where they found four people dead.

Clarkstown Police said investigation indicates that Watson Morgan, 49, the Bronxville police officer, is believed to have shot and killed his wife, 43-year-old Ornela Morgan and their two sons, ages 10 and 12 before shooting himself to death.

A handgun was recovered at the scene.

Police said this was an isolated incident and the public is not in any danger.

The Clarkstown Police Detective Bureau is continuing to investigate the situation and anyone with information is asked to call them at 834-639-5840.

“As we try to make sense of this unimaginable tragedy our hearts break for the family involved in this devastating murder-suicide in Clarkstown,” said Rockland County Excecutive Ed Day.
