Mid-Hudson News accepts Letters to the Editor
Editor, Mid Hudson News:
I suppose congratulations are in order for former Representative Sean Partrick Maloney as he heads to Paris to take a position as U.S. Ambassador to the European Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (“Maloney off to ‘diplomatic gig’ in Paris,” December 28).
In his previous position as the head of the 2022 Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), Maloney managed to lose four Democratic House seats in New York, handing control of the House of Representatives to Republicans. But wait, there’s more. Not only did Maloney fail miserably in holding the House for Democrats, he also decided to move his own campaign into a different Hudson Valley district (where he thought he’d have an easier time winning) and, in the process, chased the Democratic incumbent, Mondaire Jones, out of that district. He then proceeded to lose the race to Republican Mike Lawler. (Jones is now running against Lawler for his old seat.)
Let’s hope that Maloney will be less destructive to the interests of the United States in his new position than he was in his previous “gig” at the DCCC!
