TOWN OF CRAWFORD – A serious car crash on Route 52 and County Route 17 in the Town of Crawford late Christmas night injured at least seven people including a small child, firefighters at the scene reported.
Fire officials had originally requested three medevac helicopters to transport the most seriously wounded but the helicopters were not flying due to weather conditions around 10:00 PM Sunday.
The injured were taken to Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill and Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, first responders said.
There was no immediate word on the conditions of the victims.
There was heavy fog in the area at the time of the crash that involved what appeared to be two vehicles.
