FISHKILL – Fishkill Town Highway Superintendent Glenn Scofield Sr. is retiring on December 31, after serving as the town’s highway superintendent since 1970.  Scofield is currently the longest-serving highway superintendent in the entire state.

“For the past six decades, Glenn Scofield Sr. has been a staple of the Town of Fishkill, serving the residents diligently with the Town Highway Department,” Town Supervisor Ozzy Albra said.

This past Wednesday Scofield was honored by the town board for his dedicated service.  He was presented with a plaque recognizing his service at which point he was given a standing ovation by the town board and the gallery of attendees.

After learning that Scofield was not going to seek re-election, Town Councilman Carmine Istvan threw his name in the ring, seeking election to the seat that Scofield has held for 648 months.  Istvan was elected to the position and will transition from town board member to highway superintendent on January 1, 2024.
