HILLBURN – A 52-year-old Spring Valley man was struck and killed while walking on Route 59 in the Village of Hillburn at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Ramapo Town Police said.
The victim, whose name they did not make public, appears to have been walking northbound on the southbound side of Route 59 when he was struck by a 2023 Honda Ridgeline truck traveling southbound, police said.
He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by Spring Hill Ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with the Ramapo Police Crash Investigation Team.
The case remains under investigation.
