WHITE PLAINS – A New Castle man was charged with attempting to rape a child in Greenburgh following an undercover operation targeting online child predators.

Following an investigation by Homeland Security Inspections and the Westchester District Attorney’s Office criminal investigators, Dustin Layme, 26, was arrested on December 14 and charged with attempted rape, attempted sexual abused, three counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, and attempted predatory assault against a child.

As alleged in a felony complaint, Layme made contact online with an undercover law enforcement agent who was posing as the parent of a young girl.
