HAMPTONBURGH – A Metro-North Line commuter train came in contact with a vehicle just west of the Campbell Hall station on the Port Jervis Line at about 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Train #52 struck the vehicle after it reportedly slipped off an adjacent road onto the tracks, not at a train crossing.

The MTA said the driver of the vehicle got out before it was struck by the train.

There were about 18 people on the train with no injuries reported as a result of the impact.

Metro-North secured buses to transport travelers to the Middletown station in the Town of Wallkill.

There was a two-hour delay once service resumed.
