EAST FISHKILL- Thanks to the efforts of State Assemblyman Anil Beephan, the Mental Health America (MHA) of Dutchess, and community volunteers, 300 veterans will be a little warmer this winter.  Together, the group organized a drive for new or gently used winter coats, hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, boots, sweaters, and vests.

“The veterans of Dutchess County have sacrificed so much for our country; ensuring they have access to warm coats during the winter season has been one of my most personally favorite initiatives as an Assemblyman,” said Beephan.  “I’m thankful for Virgil, my veteran affairs coordinator, Sean, my Deputy Chief of Staff, Matt, my Legislative Director, who helped my office coordinate with MHA for the drive, and each town for participating in the drive.  I am certain that the MHA of Dutchess County will ensure that the coats end up with those who need them the most.”

Beephan also expressed his thank for the many community members who donated clothing for the drive.
