Shots fired as police capture wanted suspect in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN – Shots rang out in Middletown Thursday evening as State Police attempted to apprehend a man wanted in New York City, police sources said.

The incident occurred on Knapp Avenue. A weapon was recovered and there were no reported injuries during the incident.

There was no danger to the community, authorities said.

Middletown City Police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
