POUGHKEEPSIE – The victim of a shooting early Thursday morning is being described as “fairly uncooperative” by City of Poughkeepsie police.  The shooting occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Virginia Avenue.

First responders were dispatched to the area and were notified that the victim had been transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries caused by a bullet.

Police Captain Richard Wilson told Mid-Hudson News that “several shell casings were recovered in the area of the incident.”   The captain indicated that the investigation is ongoing, despite the “fairly uncooperative” victim who was interviewed at the hospital Thursday morning.
