POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie police, fire, and EMS responded to a report of a parent and child who were struck by a car while walking in the city on Monday evening.  The accident occurred just before 6:00 p.m. near the intersection of Washington Street and Parker Avenue.

The two pedestrians were transported by ambulance to MidHudson Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.

The operator of the sedan believed to have struck the two remained on the scene.  A City of Poughkeepsie police officer was observed handing the operator several pages of paperwork after the ambulance took the patients to the hospital.

No additional information was immediately available.
