POUGHKEEPSIE – State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli has named Dutchess County Comptroller Robin Lois as the state deputy comptroller of Local Government and School Accountability.

Hours after that announcement was made, County Executive Bill O’Neill appointed Gregg Pulver as county comptroller effective December 31, 2023. He is currently chairman of the county legislature.

Pulver’s appointment, which must be confirmed by the county legislature, will run through December 31, 2024.

Lois said this new career opportunity is one she could not turn down.

“I really feel that is a great move for me. I feel that it’s a perfect position for me with my skills and my background and I feel that this may be an opportunity that if I pass it up I will regret and it may not come around again,” she said.

Lois has been county comptroller since 2018. She has 35 years of experience in accounting and finance and is a certified public accountant.

In her new position, Lois will be replacing Elliot Auerbach of Ulster County, who retired earlier this year.
