Three Dutchess inmates arrested on new charges

POUGHKEEPSIE – Three inmates at the Dutchess County Jail have been arrested on new charges.  Two are charged with violating orders of protection and one has been charged after attacking another inmate.  The arrests were announced by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.

Hyde Park resident Jason Wands, 39, was arrested on November 8, 2023, and charged with misdemeanor criminal contempt after he contacted a protected party via telephone, in violation of an order of protection.  He was arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and returned to jail.  He is due back in court on the new charge on December 14, 2023.   

Wappingers Falls resident Saed Ramadan, 45, was also arrested on November 8, 2023, for contacting a protected party by telephone in violation of an order of protection.  Ramadan has been charged with felony aggravated family offense and misdemeanor criminal contempt.  He was arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and sent back to jail.  He is due back in court on the new charge on December 12, 2023.

Inmate Jamel Williams, 31, of East Fishkill, was arrested on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, after he allegedly physically attacked another inmate, injuring the individual.  He has been charged with felony assault and is scheduled to be arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court on November 28, 2023.   In October 2022 Williams was arrested for attacking an East Fishkill police officer and others, in a series of violent attacks.
