FALLSBURG – It has been more than 12 years since Tracy Karson lost her son, Douglas Cordo of Fallsburg, while he served in the Army in Afghanistan on August 19, 2011.
On Friday, Fallsburg town officials unveiled a stone monument in Morningside Park to honor all veterans.
Karson described her son as being very loving.
“He loved life like no other person. He loved to smile and his goal was to make everybody laugh and smile,” she told those in attendance.
The Veterans Day weekend was chosen to dedicate the monument.
