LLOYD – A 29-year-old Kingston man was arrested by Lloyd police on October 30 and charged with several crimes after police say he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s house, damaged property, and physically assaulted the woman.

Jahkeem Ryan, on federal probation for narcotics distribution, has been charged with the felonies of burglary, two counts of criminal contempt, criminal mischief, and assault for the incident.

Lloyd Police Chief James Janso says that Ryan entered the residence illegally and damaged property once inside.  When the ex-girlfriend arrived home, Ryan is alleged to have assaulted her and damaged her vehicle as she tried to leave.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived and they located him a few minutes later in the area and arrested without incident.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail on $100,000 cash bail.
