KINGSTON – An Ulster County Court jury has convicted a Kingston woman on several gun and drug possession charges following a three-day trial.
Corena Kelley, 29, was found guilty of two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The district attorney’s office said she faces a significant prison sentence when she is back in court in January 2024.
The conviction stems from a warrant search of her apartment and vehicle on December 16, 2021, during which State Police recovered two loaded pistols, one without a serial number; digital scales, narcotics packaging materials, and 10 grams of fentanyl as well as thousands of dollars of cash.
Her nine-month-old child was present in the apartment during the search.
The State Police Violent Gangs Enforcement Team collaborated with the DA’s office during the investigation.
