TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – An unspecified threat resulted in a heavy police response and evacuation of the Poughkeepsie Galleria on Sunday afternoon. Town of Poughkeepsie police said at approximately 3 p.m. that “There is no threat to the public at this time.”
The mall had been evacuated “out of precaution,” according to the police.
The public was asked on Sunday afternoon to avoid the area as the investigation continued.
A City of Poughkeepsie Police K9 unit was deployed to the mall as part of the response.
