MARLBORO- A former Gulf Service Station located in the heart of the Hamlet of Marlboro has been transformed into the town’s newest restaurant and bar, The Garage @ 25 Western.  The restaurant’s roots as an automotive service center served as the inspiration for its design, which is unlike any eatery in the area.

The proprietors, who are long-time friends and Marlboro residents, are excited to bring the new restaurant to town.  Attorney Darryl Dreyer, HVAC installer Joe Janero, and union labor leader Todd Diorio have teamed up to bring a great mix of people and vibe to The Garage @ 25 Western.

Purchased by the Alonge brothers in the 1970s, the station changed hands 40 years later when it was acquired by David Zambito in 2008.  The former two-bay repair station was then renovated and turned into a small tavern eatery before being fully transformed into The Garage.

The Garage @ 25 Western features an industrial look with a sports bar theme.  A 15-seat bar and indoor dining for 34 is complemented by a patio area with outdoor seating.  With many high-quality, low-priced menu items word is quickly spreading about this new establishment.

“Marlboro needed a place like this,” said Diorio.  “A casual atmosphere, a place to enjoy some food and drinks and watch a game.  My partners and I are glad to bring a fun, inviting place like this to town.”

The Diorio family is no stranger to the bar and restaurant business.  The family opened 26 Front Street, now Billy Joe’s, on the Newburgh waterfront in 1993.  Larry Diorio, Todd’s father, also owned the famed Village Inn in Marlboro with his uncle Rich Messina in the 1970s.  In honor of his father and uncle, Diorio gave the corporate name “The Village Inn” to his new establishment.

The Garage @ 25 Western is open Fridays through Sundays starting at 12 noon for lunch, and on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays beginning at 3 p.m.  The public is invited to stop by to experience the food, drink, and vibe firsthand.
