SLEEPY HOLLOW- “The Legend Cirque” is set to run from September 21, 2023 until October 29, 2023, in WCA’s Legend Circus Tent at 60 Continental Street (just off Route 9, opposite the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery). Shows are on Thursday and Friday nights starting at 7:00 p.m., while weekend shows run at both 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite.com. Parking is free onsite.
Last year’s groundbreaking use of holograms and live action circus performers set this production apart from all other adaptations of the Halloween season. But this year the producers offer a new twist: Washington Irving, the author himself, will appear live onstage! He has returned after 200 years in exile to reveal what he really meant by ‘The Legend.’ Audiences will be treated to Irving’s ruminations by local luminary and Executive Director of The Tarrytown Music Hall, Bjorn Olsson, who will debut as the live narrator of The Legend Cirque, and interact with the circus performers in real time. Olsson has had a long career in theater and opera, and is a well-known and influential figure in all-things-Tarrytown.
The show has been adapted by longtime circus producer Carlo Pellegrini, with stage direction by Westchester Circus Arts’ founder-owner, Hilary Sweeney.
Seating is limited to 210 people per show in the Legend Tent. Tickets range from $45 ringside, $40 on the center risers and $35 on the sides. Run time is 90 minutes with a 15-intermission, and the recommended minimum age for attending is 10 years old.
