FALLSBURG- The Town of Fallsburg is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its newest public park, Dogpatch Park, located at the corner of Dogpatch Road and Old Country Road in South Fallsburg.  This exciting addition to our community has been made possible through the generous support of local organizations and individuals, transforming a vacant space into a vibrant recreational haven.

With the invaluable assistance of a $20,000 grant from Sullivan 180, the Town of Fallsburg has brought Dogpatch Park to life.  This funding has not only enabled the creation of a dedicated dog park but has also allowed for the installation of soccer goal posts and a picturesque picnic area.  The heartwarming support from Sullivan 180 reflects their commitment to enhancing the well-being of our community.

Moreover, the development of the park’s infrastructure, including the parking lot and scenic trails, was made possible thanks to a grant from the former Sullivan Renaissance, now Sullivan 180.  This vital
contribution has paved the way for residents and visitors to enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility of Dogpatch Park while promoting active lifestyles.

Wanda Cruz from Cornell Cooperative Extension played a pivotal role in making Dogpatch Park a welcoming space for all.  Her dedication and generosity have provided the park with essential amenities, including benches, bike racks, a bike repair station, convenient dog stations, and informative signs.

Town of Fallsburg Supervisor Kathy Rappaport expressed her heartfelt gratitude, stating, “Dogpatch Park represents a significant milestone in our community’s commitment to promoting recreation, healthy living, and community engagement.  We owe a tremendous debt of thanks to everyone who
made this project possible, from our dedicated Park Manager Arnold Seletsky and the parks department, to the Town of Fallsburg Highway Department and the unwavering support of Vicki Korchanik and Jen
Edwards.”

The opening of Dogpatch Park marks a new chapter in the Town of Fallsburg’s dedication to providing residents and visitors with outstanding recreational opportunities.  This beautiful space, with its
diverse amenities, will serve as a gathering place for families, pet owners, and sports enthusiasts alike.

Residents are invited to join us for the grand opening ceremony, which will take place on October 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.  Festivities will include an opportunity to meet the dedicated individuals who made Dogpatch Park a reality.
