Nine arrested; four kilos of fentanyl plus cocaine, guns and cash seized

KINGSTON – Nine people have been arrested in connection with a major drug trafficking operation in Ulster County.

Local, state and federal authorities were involved in the two-year investigation that led to the arrests of seven Ellenville residents, one from Huguenot and one from New York City.

Ulster County Sheriff Juan Figueroa said on Wednesday that search warrants were executed leading to the arrests and drug seizures.

“The search warrants occurred in Ellenville, Westchester County and New York City and resulted in the recovery of four kilograms of fentanyl, a half-kilo of cocaine, fire firearms and approximately $600,000 in drug proceeds,” he said.

All nine defendants are charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.

They were all arraigned in federal court.
