RHINEBECK- Are you struggling with weight management, low energy levels, and the challenge of making healthy food choices?  Northern Dutchess Hospital’s Diabetes Prevention Program may have the solution you’ve been looking for.

The program’s next session is set to kick off on Monday, October 23, and offers participants the flexibility to join either virtually or in person at the hospital’s Rhinebeck campus located at 6511 Springbrook Avenue.  The choice is yours, ensuring accessibility for all community members.

The Diabetes Prevention Program is designed to empower participants with the knowledge and tools they need to make healthier food choices and incorporate more physical activity into their daily lives.  Based on nationally developed guidelines, the program has a proven track record of helping participants achieve a 5 to 7 percent reduction in body weight, which can significantly reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, as endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Participants can select from two convenient class times:  4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  The program spans 16 consecutive Mondays, with monthly follow-up sessions over the course of a year to ensure individuals stay on track and avoid falling back into old habits.

What’s more, there is no cost associated with participating in this community-benefit program, which has earned the prestigious “Full Plus Recognition” from the CDC for its sustained positive outcomes.  No doctor referral is required to enroll.
