NEWBURGH- Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh has been selected as an October beneficiary of two Hannaford supermarket programs.

For the entire month, Meals on Wheels will receive $1 from every purchase at the Vails Gate store of its $2.50 Fight Hunger Bag, and 25 cents from the purchase of every Snack Pals Plate, priced at two for $5.

The bags are a way for shoppers to support the fight against hunger in their community.  The Snack Pals Plates, located in the produce aisle, help children build healthy eating habits while combating hunger.

The nonprofit Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh was founded in 1972.  It delivers hot, noontime meals to residents of Newburgh and New Windsor who are confined to their home and unable to adequately provide their own meals.
