CENTRAL VALLEY – When owners of Woodbury Common develop their latest major expansion of the outlet mall in Central Valley, they won’t be seeking property tax breaks from the Orange County Industrial Development Agency.

After initially signaling they would do so, Senator James Skoufis convinced them to move forward on the project without an IDA property tax break and he said that was a win for all parties involved.

“The local construction trades as part of this agreement, they come away with a win; we want to keep those construction jobs local, and in our community, and not see out-of-state license plates in our parking lot and certainly, on this particular point, the taxpayers come away with a win,” he said.

Skoufis has been a longtime critic of the Orange County IDA and secured approval of a state monitor to oversee all decisions made by the agency.
