NEWBURGH – Shots rang out in the City of Newburgh at around 9 p.m. Tuesday and hours later, a victim showed up at the hospital with a stab wound.
The ShotSpotter notification system alerted the police to gunshots in the area of 129 Benkard Avenue.
Police found several casings down at the scene.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or anyone in custody.
Shortly after midnight, a man who had been stabbed showed up at the hospital emergency room.
Police said the scene of the incident may have been at Broadway and Lutheran Streets.
City police are investigating both incidents.
