NARROWSBURG- Choices Mental Health Counseling PLLC is now at the Narrowsburg Union, 7 Erie Avenue, Narrowsburg, according to Tom Rue, licensed mental health and addiction counselor with 38 years of professional experience. Rue said the Narrowsburg office opened on August 16, 2023.
Multiple local Agency needs assessments over the years have noted limited access to in-person counseling services (as well as other healthcare) on the western end of Sullivan County, Rue said.
“My hope is to not inconvenience or lose contact with any of my current clients due to this relocation, and to continue to receive new clients from across the area. People I currently see in-person in Monticello may either continue to drive themselves to my office or rely on family or Medicaid Transportation to bring them as they currently do. For those who are seen virtually, there will be no difference.”
Rue facilitates five small therapy groups per week with persons aged 17 and over for relapse prevention and mental health and meets with clients throughout the day for individual psychotherapy and counseling. He is an approved provider of impaired driver services and treatment, according to the NYS Office of Addiction and Support Services. He has been qualified since 2012 with the US Department of Transportation as a substance abuse professional.
Rue offers in-person, virtual, and hybrid group and individual therapy. He accepts MVP Healthcare, HealthFirst, Fidelis Care NY, and most commercial insurances. “My feet will be planted in Narrowsburg instead of Monticello, but my workflow will be the same,” he predicted.
“I have personal and family ties to Milanville, PA, and Narrowsburg back many years, so this relocation feels to me like going home,” Rue explained.
