Letter to the Editor: Village of Fishkill residents don’t want overdevelopment

Dear Editor,

I live in the Village of Fishkill behind the proposed complex that has recently seen the light of day.  56 apartments on the corner of Jackson and Main Streets with 105 parking spots is the definition of disregard.

Why is the Village considering another out-of-scale development?  It seems they still do not understand that Village residents want appropriate development–not overwhelming development.  Residents on those small back roads already have to be on the alert for traffic cutting through our neighborhood, blowing through the stop signs and disregarding the one-way signs all to avoid that hot mess intersection of Jackson and Main.  We live here and our children live here.  We deserve better from the Village.

I’ll see you September 21 at the Fishkill Village Hall Public Hearing.

Sincerely,

Danielle Hughes
Fishkill, NY
