MONSEY – Two suspects, a 21-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy, both from Monsey, have been arrested and charged with overnight burglaries in three locations in the Town of Ramapo.

The locations were all religious facilities including synagogues.

Ramapo detectives quickly developed the suspects and arrested them on Thursday, August 24.

The 21-year-old was also implicated in a fourth burglary that occurred on July 22, also in a religious school, in Monsey.

At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of proceeds from a larceny of a retail store in the Village of Montebello, police said.

The man, whose name was not disclosed, was charged with petit percent and criminal possession of stolen property.

Both suspects were charged with several felony counts of burglary, criminal mischief, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and criminal chief.

The 21-year-old was arraigned in Ramapo Town Court. He was also wanted on a Bergen County Sheriff’s Office warrant as a fugitive from justice.

Bail was set at $10,000 for the Ramapo charges; however, he was also remanded to the Rockland County Jail pending a hearing in New Jersey on that outstanding warrant.

The 12-year-old was processed and released on an appearance ticket due to his age. His charge will be adjudicated in Rockland County Family Court
