STAATSBURG- Months after announcing the success of its inaugural EXPO, Anderson Center for Autism has revealed details of its Second Annual Resources for Autism & IDD Information Sharing EXPO, which will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023. Free of charge and open to the public, the event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. that day at the University at Albany Campus Center, located at 1400 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY 12222.
Patrick Paul, CEO/Executive Director of Anderson Center for Autism said, “We had an overwhelmingly positive response to our first event back in January, and we look forward to a great turnout on October 1. It is very rare for families, caregivers, and colleagues in the field to have an opportunity to learn about so many organizations, agencies, and professionals in one place at one time. We expect that this second annual EXPO will again give attendees the chance to obtain valuable information, and to leave feeling more aware of the larger circle of support that exists in this region.”
Added Tracy Schober, MPA, Director of New Program Development at Anderson Center for Autism said, “Autism incidence rates are now 1 in 36, and for far too long, many caregivers have had to spend countless hours doing their own research in order to uncover the programs and professionals who can help their loved ones with autism expand their skills. At Anderson Center for Autism, we have long believed that part of our responsibility is to ensure that anyone impacted by autism – regardless of whether or not they are connected to Anderson – has access to the people and information that they deserve. The Resources for Autism & IDD Information Sharing EXPO is one way that we can help make that happen, and we are really proud to be presenting this event.”
Anderson Center for Autism offers evidence-based educational, vocational, residential, and consultation/training services to people from all over the globe. Based in Staatsburg, New York, Anderson also has a presence in the Capital District, having recently opened The Anderson Center Clinic and Early Learning Academy in Latham. The organization has also developed collaborations with SUNY Empire and other Albany-area entities and community leaders over the years.

In addition to Anderson Center for Autism, who is presenting at the event, organizations such as Anderson Center Clinic (who is organizing a sensory-friendly space onsite at the event), Autism Society Greater Hudson Region, STAYWARE, Inc., Wilcenski & Pleat, PLLC, Adirondack Case Management & Advocacy, and Living Resources will have booth space, among others.
Schober continued, “As I shared when we announced our inaugural event, we hope that the EXPO achieves our goals of expanding the capacity of families and providers to find and access community resources, increasing awareness of service providers so that they can confidently inform the autism and IDD community of available options, building broader awareness of the roles of colleges and universities in this effort – both in service provision and education and training of future professionals, and ensuring that everyone knows that Anderson Center for Autism is here to provide services and to build a cohesive community that can benefit those impacted by autism and other neurodiversities.”
