FALLSBURG- The Town of Fallsburg is partnering with the non-profit organization Comets Youth Football.  The collaboration will see the provision of new helmets to children aged 12 and under who reside in Fallsburg, enabling them to continue to participate in football activities with the Comets Youth Football program in the Hudson Valley Youth Football Association.

Safety has always been a top priority for both the Town of Fallsburg and Comets Youth Football.  With this joint effort, the organizations are continuing the proactive approach to safeguard the health of young
athletes and promote their participation in organized sports.  This participation encourages both their physical development and sportsmanship.

Coach Scott Whitehead, leader of the Comets Youth Football organization, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration stating, ” This collaboration reaffirms the partnership between the Town of Fallsburg
and Comets Youth Football.  The enhanced support will significantly enhance our continuous efforts towards creating a safe and enjoyable environment for young athletes.  Helmets are a fundamental element in ensuring our players’ safety on the field. With this support, we can focus on nurturing their passion for the game while instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and leadership.”

Town Supervisor Kathy Rappaport echoed Coach Whitehead’s sentiments, noting, “We are thrilled to support Comets Youth Football in this endeavor to provide helmets to our young players.  Ensuring the
well-being of our children is of paramount importance, and through this partnership, we can foster their participation in sports while prioritizing their safety.  This initiative reflects our commitment to creating a strong community that promotes both physical activity and responsible recreation.”

The collaboration is a testament to the shared vision of the Town of Fallsburg and Comets Youth Football in creating a supportive environment where children can thrive both on and off the field.  To learn more about the program call 845-701-5899.  The final registration day is September 5, 2023.
