GOSHEN – The State Inspector General’s Office is supposed to appoint a monitor to oversee all actions of the Orange County Industrial Development Agency by August first of shortly thereafter.

IDA Executive Director Bill Fioravanti expects that appointment to be coming shortly.

“I do expect because they are doing the best to make sure they really do a great job with this, that it’s someone who is informed, educated and experienced in this area, that is not going to take a political tact with this but just do what they should to make sure we do everything by the book as they will find,” he said.

Fioravanti told the county legislature’s oversight committee on Monday that the monitor will have the authority to veto any decision made by the IDA pertaining to project financial incentives.
