MONTICELLO – The annual Monticello Bagel Festival is being held this Sunday with an addition – the Catskills Revive Mural Festival.

It’s Monticello’s first mural, arts and cultural festival, hoped to bring revitalization, help local arts and culture and aid in developing creative spaces for young people, says its founder, Josh Deitchman.

“Bringing a mural, arts and cultural festival for a community, based in the community, involving artists that are local and paying tribute, homage and celebrating our community is a positive light,” he said.

Fallsburg High School art teacher Tobi Magnetico is painting a mural in tribute to Monticello’s large amusement park in the ‘20s and ‘30s to show the sense of community it brought to the village.

Her mural is huge – 72 feet by 11 feet.

The murals can be seen right off Broadway.
