Orange County man sentenced in PA for stealing trucks and other crimes

MILFORD, PA – A 26-year-old Port Jervis man was sentenced in Pike County Court to 14 to 48 months in a Pennsylvania state correctional facility for committing several crimes.

Liam Thomas McCann was convicted of criminal conspiracy, unauthorized use of an automobile or other vehicles, bad checks, and theft.

According to the Pike County District Attorney’s Office, McCann issued a check at a business in Matamoras Borough in the amount of $841 on September 24, 2021, knowing the check would not be honored by the bank.

On October 6, 2021, he returned merchandise he did not pay for to a retail store in Westfall Township in exchange for a store gift card.

On January 30, 2022, McCann took a Ford truck valued at over $2,000 from a utility company in Milford Township without the permission of the company.

The following day, he unlawfully took possession of a Dodge truck containing tools and equipment valued at over $2,000 without the truck owner’s permission.
