Sullivan County tops new jobs in region for June

ALBANY – The Hudson Valley/Catskill region’s private job county grew by 13,200, or 1.6 percent, to 818,800 in the year ending June 2023.

Sullivan County topped the job growth with 2.5 percent additional jobs.

The Orange-Rockland-Westchester Metro Area had 2.1 percent job growth while Delaware County saw 1.0 percent more jobs, and Ulster County had 0.4 percent job growth.

Columbia County was flat while Greene County lost 1.0 percent of its jobs and the Dutchess-Putnam Metropolitan Division lost 0.6 percent of its jobs in June.

Job gains across the region were centered in leisure and hospitality at 10,200; private education and health services at 7,300; other services 1,600; and mining, logging and construction at 300.

Employment losses were focused in professional and business services at 3,800; information at 900, financial activities at 600; trade, transportation and utilities at 500, and manufacturing at 400.
