MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Legislature Thursday named Heather Brown as commissioner of Planning, Community Development, and Environmental Management, replacing Freda Eisenberg.
Brown has been serving as interim commissioner and deputy commissioner before that.
Along with her new role, County Legislature Chairman Rob Doherty said the agency will receive a complete makeover.
“You are going to have parks in there, you are going to have her old office of sustainability in there, you will have grants in there,” he said. “You are going to have several offices that were in different parts of the building all under one office now.”
Doherty said improving the efficiency of county government is the purpose of the consolidation.
