GOSHEN -A Chemung County company that operates warehousing and storage facilities has been approved to have Foreign Trade Zone status under the Orange County license.

The announcement was made on Monday by Orange County Economic Development Director Steven Gross.

“The Foreign Trade Zone has a lot of activity. Findley’s Tall Timbers is officially in the zone. The US Department of Commerce has approved them,” he said. “We are expecting Planet Health Foods in Port Jervis to put in an application as well.”

The Orange County FTZ #37 is licensed to operate across the state.

Foreign trade zones allow companies to import product components and not pay taxes on them until they are shipped out of the zone.
