WALLKILL – A 21-year-old from Wallkill was arrested by town police after an investigation into a “burglary in the past”. Joseph Callas was arrested after police say he unlawfully entered an apartment on Vanburenville Road and removed property from the premises.
Wallkill police responded to the residence on Monday afternoon after receiving a complaint that the apartment had recently been burglarized. Police developed Callas as a suspect and arrested him on Monday. The suspect was charged with burglary, petit larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property.
Callas was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
