WARWICK – State Police have identified the police officer and tractor-trailer driver who were involved in a horrific wreck on July 12th.  First responders spent 45 minutes working to extricate critically injured 29-year-old Warwick Police Officer Jordan Tetreault after her patrol vehicle was broadsided by an 18-wheel tractor-trailer driven by 50-year-old Mouhamadou Diallo of Brooklyn.

The accident occurred around 10:00 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Route 94 and Warwick Turnpike.  The tractor-trailer driver was also seriously injured in the wreck that kept Route 94 closed for several hours into Wednesday morning.

The initial New York State Police investigation indicates that Diallo was traveling on Warwick Turnpike when he broadsided the police SUV, operated by Tetreault, and traveling south on Route 94.  The SUV was struck in the driver’s door and both vehicles went across the roadway into the parking lot of the bowling alley.  The tractor-trailer had tipped over and also struck a utility pole, breaking it.

Officer Tetreault was knocked unconscious during the wreck and was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center with critical injuries to her entire body.  State Police have indicated that she is currently in stable condition.  Diallo sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Garnet Medical Center.

Officer Tetreault started her Warwick law enforcement career as a part-time officer in 2021 and had just been given a full-time position with the department 11 days before the accident.

The New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation.
