HIGHLAND FALLS- Speaker Carl Heastie, the leader of the State Assembly, toured the devastation in the Village of Highland Falls along with Assemblyman Christopher Eachus (D, New Windsor).

“This flooding will have long-term effects on families and businesses here in the Hudson Valley and across state that were hit by storms this past weekend,” said Speaker Heastie.  “I will continue to work with Assemblymember Eachus, our Assembly Majority colleagues and with our partners in all levels of government to help Highland Falls and other communities that were effected get the resources they need to rebuild and recover.”

Speaker Heastie and Assemblymember Eachus were joined by Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Commissioner Jackie Bray, Highland Falls Mayor Joseph D’Onofrio and Orange County Legislator Laurie Tautel.

“The recovery effort is going to be a long road, but I’m committed to working with our local officials, state agencies and federal counterparts to ensure the Hudson Valley Region is built back stronger than ever,” said Eachus.
