TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – The Fairview Fire Department with mutual aid from the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in a residence on East Cedar Street just before 2:00 p.m. on Monday.  Arriving firefighters indicated a possible fire on the second floor of a 2 and one-half-story structure with heavy smoke conditions.

The incident commander requested assistance at the scene from the Arlington Fire Department while apparatus and manpower from the Roosevelt Fire Department relocated to the Fairview station.

The small electrical fire was knocked down in approximately 15 minutes and fully extinguished a short time later.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Building Department was requested to respond to the house to inspect the damage.

No injuries were reported.
