GOSHEN – Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus has declared a State of Emergency for Orange County following multiple incidents of flash flooding during Sunday’s heavy rains.  First Responders from multiple counties are assisting in water rescues in Orange County.

Neuhaus says that severe flooding conditions have caused property damage and threatened the lives and safety of Orange County residents.

The State of Emergency was declared at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday and will remain in place until it is rescinded.

The declaration bans travel in the Town of Highlands and other areas designated by emergency service personnel and government officials until 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023.  The declaration excludes emergency personnel and may be extended if necessary.
