PEARL RIVER- Sunday’s storms knocked out power to approximately 9,200 customers, according to officials at Orange & Rockland Utilities (O&R). As of Monday morning only 144 O&R customers remained without power, with crews working to restore the impacted households.
Efforts by O&R crews to restore service were delayed in some cases by flooded out and closed roads that denied crews access to outage locations to make repairs. Torrential rains interrupted service and closed dozens of area roads, making it difficult for utility workers to restore service.
O&R crews plan to work around the clock until all service has been restored.
