Ulster man busted in Newburgh with loaded .357

NEWBURGH – What started out as a vehicle and traffic violation stop on Broadway and William Street in the City of Newburgh at about 1:40 a.m. on July 4 resulted in the arrest of a Town of Lloyd man for criminal possession of a .357 cal. gun.

State Police stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Jason Lynch, 44, who was driving with a suspended license.

He was determined to be impaired by alcohol and arrested. While being taken into custody, police found the loaded Desert Eagle gun in the front of his pants.

It was also determined that Lynch had a blood alcohol content of .08 percent leading to a charge of driving while intoxicated.

He was also charged with criminal possession of a loaded weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, both felonies.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 bond and $30,000 insurance bond.
