NEWBURGH- Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh has been selected as July’s Hannaford Fight Hunger Bag Program beneficiary.
For the entire month, Meals on Wheels will receive a $1 donation from the purchase of every $2.50 Fight Hunger shopping bag at Hannaford’s in Vails Gate.
The program gives communities a way to support local organizations fighting hunger. Since it launched in 2014, Hannaford’s has contributed nearly $1 million to more than 1,400 organizations.
Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh was founded in 1972. With the support of local residents and businesses, it delivers hot, noontime meals to residents of Newburgh and New Windsor who are confined to their home and unable to adequately provide their own meals.
